Limpopo Province
Capital city: Polokwane
Population: 5,3 million
Surface area: 125 500 square km
This is the northernmost province of South Africa, sharing a northern border with Botswana and and eastern border with Mozambique.
A large section of the Kruger National Park is situated in Limpopo Province. In the south of the province, there is good game viewing, while the north is drier and has fewer visitors. However, the Letaba area is a prolific farming region, including tea plantations. North of the Letaba area one finds the Gazankulu and Venda tribes, who are renowned for their artwork. This is also the kingdom of the Rain Queen, Mojaji. To the west are the Soutpansberg and the Waterberg Mountains. In the south is the town Warmbaths, which, as the name suggests, has hot mineral springs.
